Gymnastic activities for the younger children

Here are Grace and Luciele helping younger children with some gymnastic activities at a lunchtime.

Homework Challenges

Well done to Joe, Brooklyn and Harry who all showed us today how awesome they are at something.  From a flash powerpoint to medals to clay models - great job boys!!  Thank you also to our kind and giving girls who have been helping out at home and with younger children at school. Activities range from making breakfast (cold toast Caitlyn!) and lunch for themselves and others, playing games, teaching dance and gymnastic activities and helping to create pop up art.  What a great bunch! I'm looking forward to seeing what other exciting homework challenges are met this week.

WOW! What a show! Room 19 were awesome dancers! I'm very proud of you. Well done everyone. Here we are waiting back stage for our turn to go on.

What I'm good at!

Corey made a fantastic diorama to show what activities he is good at. Well done Corey!

Giving back

As part of a homework challenge of 'Giving Back,' Estelle, Krystal and Sharntae provided younger children with the opportunity to create something arty at lunchtime.  Here is what they did.

Awesome Science!

Thank you to everyone who took part in our Science Celebration - it was a great evening. It was so busy, hardly any photos were taken!  Here are some children who helped make elephant toothpaste!

Y5s running activities for room 3

Some our year 5 boys have been running activities for children from room 3.  A treasure hunt in the sandpit for gotchas, an obstacle course and follow my leader around the adventure playground.

Giving back - homework challenge

As part of a homework challenge to 'give something back', Luciele has set up a little ballet dance group for younger children at a lunchtime.  She is an awesome dance teacher! Check out these cute pictures.

We are learning to observe and use scientific evidence...

What do YOU think happened in these three diagrams?  Ask the children what they think happened and what they drew in their own version.

Please check your child is equipped for the new term

Due to the huge amount of work we do... :)  some children are in need of new pencils and glue sticks.  Please check with your child what they might need.  They are all ok for books at the moment but some may have lost rulers, rubbers, pens, scissors etc.  Their own dictionary helps too.  Thanks.

I set myself challenges and I do what I am asked, the first time I am asked.

Think you might FAIL?!

This is room 19's map of New Zealand made with skipping ropes.  The pieces of paper show where the children were born.  Most of us were born in Paraparaumu or Wellington.  Only three of us were born on the South Island.  Three of us, including me, were born in the UK.
